Italian Lakes & Valvestino Canyon Loop

The starting point of your scenic tour around Lake Iseo and into the Valvestino.

Enjoy the start of the "Vecchia Litoranea," a picturesque old lakeside road that offers stunning views of Lake Iseo, leading you directly along the water's edge to Marone.

This waypoint serves as your gateway to Val Sabbia, allowing you to cut east towards Lake Idro without descending too far south towards Brescia. It's a key navigation point on your route.

Explore the historic fortress of Rocca d'Anfo, a Venetian military complex nestled on the Brescia side of Lake Idro. It offers incredible views and a fascinating glimpse into military history.

Immediately after Lake Idro, turn right to begin the technical ascent into the Valvestino valley. The road here starts to become more challenging and rewarding for riders.

A mandatory panoramic stop at the striking Valvestino Dam. The road here is narrow and features many "elbow" curves, offering an exhilarating riding experience with breathtaking views of the artificial lake.

Descend steeply towards Lake Garda, emerging onto the scenic Gardesana (SS45bis). This charming town is an ideal spot for a leisurely lunch by the lake before continuing your adventure north.

After about 10-15 minutes north of Gargnano on the Gardesana, look for the left turn towards "Tremosine / Strada della Forra." This is the spectacular entrance to the "Road of the Gorge," a winding canyon road hailed as one of the most beautiful in the world.

Arrive in the charming village of Pieve di Tremosine. Your main stop here is the "Terrazza del Brivido," a breathtaking cantilevered platform offering a dizzying view 350 meters above Lake Garda. It's an unforgettable photo opportunity.

Descend from Tremosine back towards Limone to rejoin the Gardesana road, marking the beginning of your return journey. This vibrant lakeside town is famous for its lemon groves and picturesque harbor.
