Zentralschwiiz Klönertal

The Verkehrshaus is a perfect meeting point because it is large enough so you will find space to comfortable meet up and it is far outside the city so you won't cause any traffic, which is very important as I live there. thankyouverymuch.

One of the most beautiful villages of Switzerland. Its location with its palm-trees, tight roads nested between the mountain-cliff and the lake gives it an irresistable Ticino flare but without the reckless drivers.

From the "oberi Naas" you have a perfect view onto the "onteri Naas" across the Lake. The "onteri Naas" is also where the "Réduit National" begins. Everything north of here would have been ceded to the Nazis in case of an invastion and the fight would have begun here. As such, the entire mountain is filled with bunkers and gun stations. If you look closely, you can even see some.

The Capital of the Canton of Schwyz, it is a beautiful historical city. Schwyz is also where "Schwiiz" (How Switzerland is called in the german speaking part) gets its name from and Schwyz, the Canton, is one of the three founding members of the old Confederacy in 1291.

The Bridge offers a georgeous view over the lake. It also marks the beginning of the more alpine part of the route

The Klönertal is one of the most georgeous places in Switzerland and I say that knowing it is Part of Glarus and not Uri, where I come from. The twisty mountain roads offer a fantastic driving experience. And the moment that the forest stops and you get to see down onto the Klönersee will be a breathtaking reveal that you will remember.

The Urnerboden is the largest producer of alpine cheese. Take a break, buy some cheese and enjoy the alpine village. It is a very sleepy and otherwise unremarkable vilage, but it is where I come from and this is my route, so it stays in.
